equipment and hire others. Soon your clientele seems
to be growing as quickly as the grass you’re cutting.
WHITTIER COLLEGE HAS ALWAYS BEEN HOME TO A WIDE
range of athletes with a lot to show for their mettle. The
Whittier, California-based school has captured 26 conference
titles through its football program alone in a
100-year span, and its lacrosse program has also roused
its fair share of competition.
The H-2B program was
designed to legally and
temporarily supply immigrant
workers to American industries
that struggle with labor shortages,
especially those in the service
areas (hotels, restaurants) as
well as seasonal businesses. So
now, with a lagging economy
and unemployment rates reaching
record highs, the need for
the program no longer exists,
YES, TIMES ARE STILL TOUGH OUT there. Driving along one of Los Angeles’ metropolitan streets over the weekend, I couldn’t help but notice just how hard the small, local businesses and boutiques have been hit.
