The West Virginia Attorney General has filed a complaint against John Teague, owner of John’s Tree Service and Landscaping in Raleigh Country, West Virginia. The complaint cites multiple instances where the contractor never finished work he was hired to do, while leaving debris and damaging property on some sites.
The suit also alleges that Teague never offered refunds for unfinished work. “The Consumer Credit and Protection Act applies to all businesses, regardless of how small or large they are, or what type of commerce they engage in,” said Attorney General Patrick Morrisey.
Teague has run afoul of the state in the past. His corporate charter was revoked by the Secretary of State’s Office in 2008. Included in the complaint is that the businesses are not currently licensed by West Virginia’s Departments of Labor or Tax and Revenue.
