Homeowner Sues Landscape Company

| Latest News

A landscape company in Charleston, North Carolina, is being sued for a breach of warranty. The homeowner claims that her contractors, Above Average Landscaping, failed to work in compliance with standards of workmanship.

The homeowner contracted the company to lay a concrete driveway and a stamped/stained concrete porch and patio.

Wheelchair bound, the homeowner was not able to check the work on the day of completion because her chair was in the shop for repairs.

When she was able to check their work, she found that the concrete driveway and patio began crumbling immediately in some areas. Other areas had a bumpy, uneven, and unsightly texture. She also claims the stamped pattern on the porch and patio did not line up, and were stained unevenly in the wrong color. Lastly, she says they tracked wet concrete on her composite deck and across the asphalt driveway, in addition to splashing it on the siding around the concrete porch.

According to the suit, the defendants refused to fix the problems. The homeowner is seeking compensatory and punitive damages.
