Township Requests Help From Landscape Contractors

| Latest News

Officials in Edison Township, New Jersey, are asking local landscaping businesses to volunteer their services to maintain public areas such as medians and parks. Given the current economic climate and Edison Township’s limited funding, officials have requested that local business help out the Public Works Department.

The Township Council voted unanimously to create the “Adopt a Spot” program during its most recent regular monthly meeting.

The program seeks businesses’ assistance in the maintenance and landscaping of open spaces, parks, vacant township owned properties and other areas. Some of the work will include regularly cutting lawns, watering, planting and fertilizing.

Businesses and organizations are asked to commit to a full year in the program and to use their own equipment. The township will post a sign in the area to advertise the business that is maintaining that area.
