Volunteers Improve Irrigation Systems at Arlington

| Latest News

Irrigation contractors, in conjunction with the Irrigation Association, recently spent a day in Arlington National Cemetery to maintain and improve its irrigation systems. This was part of PLANET’s annual Renewal and Remembrance event, when many irrigation contractors donate their time and often bring along their friends, family and associates to help.

“Our country has given us so much, and this is one small way we can give back,” said Bob Dobson of Middletown Sprinkler Company, Port Monmouth, New Jersey, who is also treasurer of IA.

Continuing last year’s work, IA teams audited irrigation systems and improved their efficiency near the columbaria.

A new irrigation system was installed beside the receiving vault, an area adjacent to the Memorial Rose Garden that serves as a staging area for caisson burials.
