A backyard oasis with lush vegetation and natural beauty can be yours with the help of Westward Look Resorts Xeriscaping Class. Courses will be held the second Friday of each month through May. Classes will take place Friday, April 9 and May 14 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Westward Look Resort, Tucson, Arizona.
Designed and hosted by resort Landscape Manager Raymundo Ocampo, the classes will cover: minimizing water usage through proper irrigation techniques for desert plant life; planting shade trees to reduce energy costs; utilizing focal points such as berms, textures and contrasting plant varieties to add to landscape design and curb appeal; choosing native plants and those that will adapt to the desert climate to preserve the desert environment and conserve water.
